Ride the Wave - Intermediate
Based on the Jon Kabat-Zinn quote "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf," Ride the Wave is about learning to use the downs of life as fuel. Sections start the show resisting the metaphorical waves, and learn to use that energy to push them forward. Originally commissioned for Buena HS for the spring of 2025
A Soft Place - Beginner/Intermediate
Proper rest can be the key to progress. A Soft Place starts from a place of overwhelming exhaustion. After taking the time to stop for awhile and recharge, the constant movement that seemed so tiring before feels more like a comfortable flow. Walk With Me examines the process of conquering an impossible feat. When solitary attempts prove futile, performers learn that through collaboration and support, no trial is unconquerable. Originally commissioned for Moorpark HS for the spring of 2023.
